In the Romantic era of Classical music expressiveness was a dominant feature, and the idea of telling a story - often a romantic story - through the music became popular.
Montpelier flutist Karen Kevra's new recording with pianist Jeffrey Chappell , is called "Romantic Music" and it features examples of such stories.
With Valentine's Day approaching, we asked Karen to talk to us about the music - and the connection between the Romantic era and the romantic sentiments expressed the pieces she's recorded.
