Swine flu vaccine delayed to some NH providers

- Concord, NH

New Hampshire health care providers have begun administering the swine flu vaccine, though some are still waiting for shipments they expected earlier this week.

David East is the director of emergency management at Eliot Health System in Manchester. He said the hospital was due to receive about 2,000 doses for hospital workers on Monday but was still waiting on Thursday.

A spokeswoman for the state Department of Health and Human Services says about 12,000 nasal mist doses arrived earlier this week and have been distributed. By the end of the month, the state is expected to receive about 180,000 doses.

East was understanding about the delay, saying officials realize how complicated the delivery process has been.
