Tuesday, 09/29/09 5:30pm

The Vermont Chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union is marking the occasion with an event called "An Evening Without", this Wednesday in Norwich.
Vermont authors will be reading from books that have been subjected to bans, or whose authors were barred from the U.S. because of their political viewpoints.
Allen Gilbert is executive director of the Vermont ACLU. He speaks with VPR's Neal Charnoff about the event, which is co-sponsored by PEN-New England.
Note: "An Evening Without...Giving Voice to the Silenced" will take place in the Norwich Congregational Church tomorrow evening at 7.
