VT Edition: pros and cons of Federal Reserve oversight

Senator Bernie Sanders has introduced a bill that would require stricter oversight of the Federal Reserve. Sanders talks with VPR's Jane Lindholm about why he thinks that is necessary. And Tuck School of Business professor Matthew Slaughter joins us. He is one of the nearly 200 signers of an "Open letter to Congress and the Executive Branch" calling for continued independence of the Federal Reserve. He spoke with VPR's Jane Lindholm about why he opposes increased oversight of the Federal Reserve - the type Bernie Sanders is proposing.
