Thursday, 06/25/09 1:34pm
In these challenging economic times, colleges around the country are cutting programs and in some cases even closing. But Vermont College of Fine Arts in Montpelier is just getting started. The newly formed institution is celebrating its first anniversary - and looking ahead with optimism and excitement.
The 33-acre campus and its three low-residency MFA programs, were rescued and re-envisioned by a group of faculty, staff and supporters led by novelist Thomas Greene. He's now the s Founding President of Vermont College of Fine Arts. He traveled down the hill to our Montpelier Studios. He spoke with VPR's Jane Lindholm about the future.
