An unusually high number of musicians have died at the age of 27, from legends like Kurt Cobain, Jimi Hendrix and Janis Joplin, to lesser-known artists from groups such as The Minutemen and Big Star.
Vermont author Eric Segalstad examines this phenomenon in the book, "The 27's-The Greatest Myth of Rock and Roll".

Eric Segalstad lives in Burlington. He spoke with VPR's Neal Charnoff about his book.
Note: Eric Segalstad will be at the Fletcher Free Library, 235 College Street in Burlington on Wednesday, May 20, 2009 at 7:00pm
