Interview: Chris Bohjalian on "Skeletons At The Feast"
Monday, 02/09/09 4:46pm
Vermont author Chris Bohjalian leaves New England behind in his latest book, Skeletons At The Feast.
The book takes place during the last six months of World War II in Poland and eastern Germany.
It follows the evacuation of a family of Prussian aristocrats, caught between the now-desperate German empire, and the Russians, who are intent on delivering a brutal revenge to their German enemies.
Swept up in the horrors of war, the family clings to their belief in a fundamental goodness of people.
Skeletons At The Feast has just been published in paperback.
Chris Bohjalian lives in Lincoln, Vermont, and spoke with VPR's Neal Charnoff about his book.
Chris Bohjalian, thanks for coming in.
Note: Bohjalian will be appearing at Barnes and Noble bookstore in South Burlington, tomorrow evening at 7.
