Rutland group plans save-the-train rally today
A plan to cut Amtrak service to Rutland isn't winning any supporters there. A group calling itself the Vermont Rail Action Network is planning a save-the-train rally there at 4 p.m. today to urge state leaders not to cut the service.
Timed to coincide with the 4:45 p.m. departure of the Ethan Allen, the rally will include Rutland leaders and other speakers.
In addition, lawmakers in Montpelier will take testimony Wednesday on the plan.
