Marlboro filmmakers Lisa Merton and Alan Dater spent more than five years working on the documentary, "Taking Root: The Vision of Wangari Maathai." The film is about a Kenyan woman who founded her country's Greenbelt movement by encouraging women to plant trees. During the time they were filming, Maathai was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. VPR's Susan Keese spoke with them about the film.
