Interview: Sen. Matt Houde on power outages

Even harder hit was New Hampshire...where an estimated 54-thousand people are still in the dark. At the height of last week's storm, about 43,000 people in VT, and some 430,000 in the Granite State had lost electricity.
Teams from the Federal Emergency Management Agency have arrived in New Hampshire to begin assessing damage from the ice storm, and to see if the state will qualify for federal disaster aid.
New Hampshire State Senator Matt Houde of Plainfield is one of those thousands who spent nearly a week without power...we reached Houde on his cell phone this morning...he says he got good news for folks in the Plainfield region last night while he was at the office:

CVPS says much of the damage is affecting single or small groups of houses, and some homes are not included in outage reports. If you are still without power at by 8 this morning, you should call your power company. Vermont Emergency Management says people still in need of shelter or assistance should call 211.
