VPR StoryCorps: Madeleine May Kunin and Edgar May on their first day in America

Tuesday November 25, 2008

This week on VPR on you've been hearing about the National Day of Listening. It's a project developed by StoryCorps, and the idea is for you sit down with a loved one or friend on the day after Thanksgiving and share stories about your lives - it's like Story Corps in your living room.

Two years ago, when StoryCorps was in Vermont, hundreds of you went to the mobile recoding booth to interview each other. We thought it might inspire you to participate in this Friday's National Day of Listening to hear one of those stories.

Among the recordings was a conversation between former Governor Madeleine May Kunin and her brother, Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist and former Vermont politician, Edgar May about their first day in America.
