(Host) Senator Patrick Leahy says President-elect Barack Obama will face a long list of difficult problems, from the war in Iraq to the economy.
But Leahy says he thinks the new president is up to the challenge and Leahy looks forward to Obama's first 100 days in office.
(Leahy) "I believe that Barack Obama can handle it. He's shown a steadiness of purpose all the way through this campaign. I believe he can face it. I believe he's going to have a large mandate from the American public. And he's going to have a lot of members of Congress, like myself, who are going to be willing to work and work heavily with him.''
(Host) Leahy says he isn't interested in a seat on the Supreme Court, if one were offered.
He says he looks forward to working with the Obama administration in his role as chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee.
