(Host) Some of Vermont's most hotly contested legislative races came down to tiny margins, and in many places it's still too close to call.
In Franklin County, three candidates were within just a handful of votes and the outcome could come down to a recount.
Incumbent Democratic Senators Don Collins and Sara Kittell were in the tight race against Republican Randy Brock, the former state auditor.
In Caledonia County, it appeared that the Democrats picked up a seat. Matthew Choate is in line to take the seat that was vacated by Republican George Coppenrath.
In House races, a handful of incumbents were defeated. Representative Judy Livingston of Manchester served 14 years but lost. In Shelburne, Representative Joyce Errecart also was defeated.
Leo Valliere in Barre was defeated in a rematch against former Representative Paul Poirier.
Results in some districts were unclear because some towns hadn't reported their results. In the Chittenden Senate race, with 96 percent reporting, it appears that all incumbents were returned to office, but the Associated Press still has not called that race.
