The tradition of foreign students attending U.S. colleges dates back to the early days of our nation, when Princeton became the first American university to accept students from abroad. The second to do so was here in Vermont:
Norwich University's first international student was a Cuban who came to the Northfield campus in 1824, five years after the military academy was established. Since then there's been a steady stream of foreign students on the Northfield campus.
VPR's Steve Zind visited with some of the current crop of international students attending Norwich.
