Mass. man arrested after body was found in Vermont
Police have arrested a man who shared an apartment with a 64-year-old Chicopee, Mass., resident whose body was found along Interstate 91 in Vermont.
The Republican newspaper of Springfield reported Sunday that police arrested 37-year-old Peter Bruneau after they found blood at the apartment and determined that "a violent crime had occurred" in the home he shared with George Roy.
Roy's body was found in grass off the east side of the highway near Weathersfield on Friday.
Authorities the cause and manner of death were being withheld because the death investigation was ongoing.
Police from Chicopee who had begun a missing persons probe into Roy's disappearance contacted Vermont authorities after information about the discovery of the body was shared with New England law enforcement agencies.
