Girls camp still going strong at 100 years
Monday, 08/25/08 6:35am and 6:35am
One-hundred years ago, nine girls at the Horace Mann School in New York City begged their teacher to take them out of the city to the summer home she shared with her husband in Thetford.
Charlotte Farnsworth agreed, and with her husband Charles, launched a summer camp that's still going strong under the auspices of the Girl Scouts.
VPR's Charlotte Albright stopped by the centennial celebration at Camp Farnsworth over the weekend.
