Jay and Troy get $8.2 million for wastewater improvements

A top official at the Jay Peak ski resort says the expanding facility is very grateful that federal money is coming to help improve the sewage systems in Jay and Troy.
Jay Peak's Bill Stenger made the comment after U.S. Sen. Patrick Leahy announced yesterday that the towns will get $8.2 million in federal grants and loans for wastewater treatment.
Leahy says the money will help clean up Lake Champlain by keeping under-treated wastewater out of the Missisquoi River, which flows into the lake.
Stenger says his resort would not be able to grow without the improvements.
