After meeting with legislative leaders Monday, it's unlikely the governor will call a special session in the wake of the Brooke Bennett case because lawmakers do not agree with his proposals to crack down on sex offenders;  Police are searching for about two dozen convicted sex offenders who couldn't be found during a recent sweep of Chittenden County; Progressive Party candidate Anthony Pollina says he's decided to run as an Independent candidate this fall, in an effort to broaden his political base. A federal panel is weighing an anti-nuclear group's challenge to the re-licensing of Vermont Yankee nuclear plant.
