Burlington kickball league a success in first season

The World Adult Kickball Association, or WAKA , has been building support for ten years, and Vermont's league just started up in Burlington this summer.  Every Monday night, the competition and camaraderie is fueled by eight enthusiastic teams.  Picture about 150 adults - all of them 21 years and up - screaming and cheering while their teammates take the field with a bright red playground ball. Funny team names, occasional costumes and a few cases of beer round out the scene. 

VPR's Patti Daniels spoke with with two league organizers - they both play for the team "Sloppy McKicksters" - about kickball's attraction for adults:
