VT Edition Interview: Hany Farid on detecting digital alterations in media

It's often said that "seeing is believing," but Hany Farid has earned a reputation for refuting that assumption. Farid is associate chair of the computer science department at Dartmouth College, and he's a founder in the field of ‘Digital Forensics.' That's the science of detecting alterations in digital photographs and other media. He spoke with VPR's Jane Lindholm about the science involved in this fascinating field.
