As life expectancy for Americans grows, a lot of attention is paid to preserving the aging body, but too little attention is paid to keeping the mind healthy as well.

That's the view of Dr. Gene Cohen, who will speak about keeping the aging mind sharp at the University of Vermont this week.

Dr. Cohen hopes to refute what he says are widely held but false beliefs about the mind as it ages:
