U.S. FIRST - The Foundation
for the Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology, was founded
almost 20 years ago in Manchester, New Hampshire to encourage young people to
engage in scientific pursuits. The FIRST
Robotics Competition gives high school teams just six weeks to create a robot
from scratch. Each year, robots must
compete in a different game.
This year St. Johnsbury Academy joined more than 150,000 other FIRST participants. And they won the Rookie Tournament with their unique robot. Recently VPR's Jane Lindholm visited robotics team members in their lab at the academy, where team leader Chris Fitzhugh showed off their creation.
