N.H. officials launch event on climate change and public health

Monday April 7, 2008

CONCORD, N.H. (AP)

New Hampshire's Department of Health and Human Services is encouraging people to consider how climate change affects their health and the health of the planet.

The department is launching an event today for National Public Health Week called, ``Climate Change: Our Health in the Balance.''

The messages are: be prepared, travel differently, eat differently, green your work and green your home.

Commissioner Nicholas Toumpas will be talking about public health in the state and what the state is doing to meet the new challenges we face.
