Voters in Brattleboro say they believe President Bush and Vice President
Cheney should be arrested for violating the Constitution if they ever visit
their community.
An item on the Town Meeting Day ballot to have the two arrested passed by a vote of 2,012 to 1,795.
The item is more symbolic than substantive.
It seeks to have police arrest the president and vice president or to extradite them for prosecution elsewhere _ if they're not impeached first.
But Town Clerk Annette Cappy says the town attorney has no legal authority to draw up any papers to allow police officers to the president and vice president.
