VT Edition Interview: Chris Pearson & Kevin Mullin on instant runoff voting

Tuesday February 19, 2008
Steve Zind

Montpelier, VT

For years there's been talk of instituting instant runoff voting for some statewide offices in Vermont. Supporters say it's a more accurate reflection of voters wishes. Opponents say it's confusing, cumbersome and unconstitutional in some cases. Representative Chris Pearson is a Burlington Progressive who supports IRV. Senator. Kevin Mullin is a Rutland County Republican who voted against the Senate IRV bill. They spoke with VPR's Steve Zind about the pros and cons of using instant runoff voting in Vermont.
