"Keep Cool and Keep Coolidge" went from slogan to song

Monday February 18, 2008
Sarah Ashworth

Colchester, VT

Calvin Coolidge's slogan for the 1924 campaign was "Keep Cool and Keep Coolidge"...which goes to prove even then clever marketing was important in politics. But it wasn't enough to have it as a slogan, it was turned into a song. Keep Cool and Keep Coolidge was written by Bruce Harper and Ida Cheever Goodwin. VPR's Sarah Ashworth asked Robert Resnick to play a rendition of the song in the VPR Studios.
