religion's place in the public square and the political arena continues to be
debated, one Vermont minister says much is misunderstood about the founding
fathers own beliefs and attitudes. Gary
Kowalski is senior minister at the First Unitarian Universalist Society in Burlington and author of "Revolutionary Spirits: "The
Enlightened Faith of America's Founding
Fathers." He spoke with VPR's Steve Zind about the spiritual
lives of the nation's founders and their views on God in government.
