When you can make ice in Randolph, you do

Monday February 4, 2008
Patti Daniels

Randolph, VT

It's safe to say this has been a challenging season for making ice - with warm breaks alternating with cold spells.  Still, Randolph skaters have been able to use their town rink lately thanks to the work of Tom Morgan.  For years he's been out there in all sorts of weather, pushing what looks like a big janitor's broom that sprays a steady stream of water as he adds layers of ice to the surface of the rink.

We tagged along beside Tom as he let us in on the craft of making skating ice.
