RSSAthens is an out of the way Windham County town. It's situated in a small valley between Townshend, Brookline and Saxtons River. This summer the town garnered unprecedented celebrity when one of its resident families was selected for an episode of the ABC Television program, Extreme Makeover, home edition. The family got a new house, but then the publicity died down. Now one of the few things the town is known for is a longstanding debate over the pronunciation of its name. VPR's Susan Keese visited the town in hopes of setting the debate to rest.
