While teams are expected to resume re-counting the Democratic ballots cast in last week's New Hampshire presidential primary this morning, Secretary of State Bill Gardner is deciding whether to re-count the Republican ballots as well.

Gardner's office received a $56,000 check yesterday from Republican Albert Howard of Michigan, who has asked for a re-count of the GOP primary.

WMUR-TV reports that Gardner plans to start the Republican count after the Democratic count is completed and if the check is for the proper amount and it clears.

Yesterday about 45,000 ballots were counted, out of a total of about 290,000 Democratic votes cast.

The Democratic count was started after the Secretary of State's office received $27,000 from Ohio Democrat Dennis Kucinich.

Kucinich received less than 2 percent of the vote. He says he is suspicious of the results, although he doesn't expect a re-count to change his vote count much.
