The Bennington County town of Rupert is separated from most of the rest of Vermont by the Taconic range, which runs west of the Greens. It shares a valley, and a high school with the town of Salem, New York. But its residents consider themselves Vermonters, through and through. We talked about the town with two members of the Rupert Historical Society, in the building that used to be the town school.
