Vermont Edition Interview: Middlebury College Psychology Professor Barbara Hofer on the "Electronic Tether"
Thursday, 11/29/07 2:39pm and 2:39pm
A few years ago Middlebury College Psychology Professor Barbara Hofer noticed that her students were using their cell phones to call their parents...a lot. And she got curious about whether what she calls the "electronic tether" of the cell phone delays adulthood in college kids. So she teamed up with several of her students to create a study looking at how people communicate with their parents during the college years. VPR's Jane Lindholm stopped by Professor Hofer's office to talk about the study.
