School budgets appear to have fared well at town meeting despite concerns about school spending.
Voters approved at least 50 budgets and turned down 11 according to partial results in so far.
That appears to be well below the record for the past decade when 43 budgets were rejected in 2003.
In Chittenden County, school budgets failed in Milton, Williston and Winooski. In other parts of the state Springfield and Northfield also rejected their school spending plans.
The school budget results are one of the most-watched trends for this year.
The Legislature has been considering measures to control school spending and some people had said the outcome of today's votes could signal how bad voters think the property tax is right now.
