IBM has announced it's selling its country club, golf course and more than 600 acres of property near Binghamton, New York. The property in the town of Union, a few miles east of Big Blue's sprawling Endicott manufacturing complex, was acquired by the company more than 70 years ago.

The facility, initially known as the IBM Country Club, was developed for use by company employees and their families. The name was changed to the Heritage Country Club and in 1995 membership was opened to people not affiliated with IBM.

The purchase price of the club wasn't disclosed.
