About the Music on VPR and VPR Classical

VPR celebrates the music the world 'round, from the classics (that's Elvis AND Mozart!) and jazz to the rich wealth of regional talent in our area, and exciting sounds as diverse as the full global spectrum where they originate.

VPR Classical is Vermont Public Radio's 24-hour classical music network, with local hosts who love the music like you do. With insights about the music and the fascinating lives of the people who write and play it, we work to provide a thoughtful framework for the music, welcoming you whether you're a casual or passionate classical music fan. Each performance, each artist, each composer, brings a unique perspective to the music. And our hosts - Cheryl Willoughby, Walter Parker, Joe Goetz and Peter Fox Smith share that sense of discovery and delight with you every day.

Music on VPR includes Jazz with George Thomas, My Place with Joel Najman, and All The Traditions with Robert Resnik. Answering all of music's pressing questions, like "who put the BOP in the bop-she-bop-she-bop?", and "So What"? - and then some, these seasoned hosts bring nearly a century of combined experience and love of music to the air in fun and often unexpected ways.
