VPR Classical Now Available On Rutland's PEG-TV
October 21, 2009
VPR Classical, Vermont Public Radio’s 24-hour classical music network, is now available in the evening and overnight to cable customers in the Rutland area.
Cable subscribers can listen to VPR Classical overnight on PEGTV Channel 20 during the overnight and morning hours between 11 p.m and 9 a.m. It can also be heard at other times throughout the day when the station is broadcasting its Bulletin Board. VPR Classical is available in Rutland via streaming at VPR.net, and using an HD radio at 88.7-HD2. The PEGTV service creates another way for listeners to hear VPR Classical in an area that cannot yet receive the service via analog radio.
“We’re thrilled to be partnering with PEG-TV to bring VPR Classical to listeners in Rutland County,” said VPR President Robin Turnau. “Securing new radio frequencies can be a long and complex process. We appreciate the opportunity to find creative solutions to make VPR Classical more widely available by working with local providers such as PEGTV.”
PEGTV is Rutland’s community access television network, reaching 15,000 cable subscribers on channels 15, 20 and 21 throughout Rutland County.
“It’s important to us to serve the community,” said PEGTV Executive Director Michael Valentine. “We know a lot of people in Rutland County have been missing classical music, and this is another way to serve the residents of Rutland County.”
