VERMONT PUBLIC RADIO WINS NATIONAL EDWARD R. MURROW AWARD FOR INVESTIGATIVE REPORTING
VPR's Nina Keck honored for coverage of O'Neil Walker case

Vermont Public Radio has been honored with a 2006 national Edward R. Murrow Award for outstanding news coverage. VPR's Nina Keck was recognized in the category of investigative reporting.
The winning report covered Middlebury College's suspension of a student for allegedly intruding into a room of another student, which raised questions of race. Keck received the award October 16, 2006 at a ceremony hosted by CNN's Soledad O'Brien in New York City.
In addition to the national Murrow Award, VPR was honored with four 2006 regional Edward R. Murrow Award for outstanding news coverage.
In all, 55 news organizations received 80 national awards out of an initial poll of 3,723 entries from 568 news organizations. The awards are presented by the Radio-Television News Directors Association (RTNDA). VPR won the prestigious awards in the small-market radio category that included stations in Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, Massachusetts, Connecticut and Rhode Island.
