Jane Lindholm Joins Vermont Public Radio

Vermont Native to Host New Daily Newsmagazine

Vermont Public Radio welcomes Jane Lindholm, a Middlebury native to the VPR staff today, June 18, 2007.  Lindholm will host a new daily version of VPR’s newsmagazine, Vermont Edition, set to premiere August 13th. Previously, Lindholm had served as Director and Associate Producer of Marketplace, public radio’s award winning national business program with four million listeners a week.

Lindholm, 28, graduated from Harvard University with a B.A. in Anthropology. She began her career writing and editing for Let’s Go Travel Guides.  In 2001, she joined National Public Radio (NPR) as an Editorial/Production Assistant for Talk of the Nation, Weekend Edition Saturday. She also worked with Radio Expeditions, a co-production of NPR and the National Geographic Society. Lindholm has also reported for other public radio programs including Marketplace Morning Report, Marketplace Money and Only a Game.

Born in East Middlebury, Lindholm grew up in Massachusetts and Middlebury, where her father is a professor and dean at Middlebury College.

Lindholm joins Vermont Public Radio as the station prepares to expand to two distinct state-wide services: VPR News and VPR Classical.  The transition is expected to happen this fall.

VPR can be heard at 107.9 FM in Burlington, 89.5 FM in Windsor, 88.7 FM in Rutland, 88.5 FM in St. Johnsbury, 94.3 FM in Bennington, 95.1 Sunderland/Manchester, 92.5 in Manchester, 94.5 in Brattleboro, 95.3 in Middlebury, 94.1 in Montpelier and online at vpr.net. VPR is also available in HD Digital Radio in northern Vermont at 107.9 HD-1, the Upper Valley at 89.5 HD-1 and in Bennington at 94.3 HD-1.

VPR Classical can be heard at 88.1 in Norwich, 93.5 Bennington, 103.9 Hanover, 106.9 Manchester, 99.5  Middlebury, 99.5  Newbury, 106.9 Woodstock and online at vpr.net. VPR Classical can also be heard in HD Digital Radio in northern Vermont at 107.9 HD-2 and in the Upper Valley at 89.5 HD-2.
