Brian Donahue Named Vermont Public Radio's Chief Financial Officer

February 7, 2006

Vermont Public Radio has named Brian Donahue Chief Financial Officer. His appointment was announced today by VPR President and General Manager Mark Vogelzang. Donahue will be responsible for the day-to-day administrative operations of the station, including finance, accounting, legal and human resources. His first day at VPR will be May 1, 2006.

"We are delighted to have Brian as a key member of our management team," said Vogelzang. "His financial and organizational expertise, coupled with his leadership experience and enthusiasm for public radio, will further strengthen VPR's impact as one of the state's leading journalistic and cultural institutions."

Previously, Donahue served as Chief Operations Officer for the Chittenden Central Supervisory Union, responsible for the functional oversight of more than 200 employees and $50 million in school budgets. He worked closely with elected school board members and served as the primary spokesperson for the various school districts on operational and finance issues.

Donahue also served as Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer for the Society of Saint Edmund and Executive Director of the Discovery Museum. He was instrumental in the early development of the Saint Michael College's MOVE (Mobilization of Volunteer Efforts) program, a national model for community service activities by college students. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Saint Michael's College and a Masters of Business Administration from Concordia University.

Donahue's outside interests center on his family and community. He serves as the League Coordinator for Essex Youth Soccer and coaches a local soccer team. He and his family reside in Essex.
