Vivaldi's Magnificat

Antonio Vivaldi was in charge of music at one of the Venetian ospedali, which offered shelter to the daughters of nobles who had fallen on hard times. Conductor Andrew Parrott takes his cue from the fact that Vivaldi had only female voices available and uses only female singers in his recording of Vivaldi's Magnificat, which we'll listen to today.
