Republican U.S. Senate Debate

08/15/12 12:00PM By Jane Lindholm  Download MP3

John MacGovern and Brooke Paige have entered the Republican primary for U.S. Senate in hopes of facing incumbent Bernie Sanders in November. They debate their plans for reviving the economy, lowering the deficit, working with a divided Congress and other issues facing the country. And they explain why they're the better choice to represent Vermont in the Senate.

Also on the program, U.S. Fish and Wildlife has ended an almost five-decades-long program to re-introduce Atlantic salmon to the Connecticut River watershed. State Representative David Deen, the Connecticut River steward, explains how that will affect local efforts and what the future holds for the restoration of other species in the Connecticut.
