Music Composer Richard Adler 1921-2012

This past June 21,2012 music composer and song lyricist Richard Adler passed away at age 90 at his Long Island, New York home.
Back in the mid-1950's Richard Adler co-wrote the music for two of Broadway's all-time most successful musicals: The Pajama Game and Damn Yankees.
Plus, during a songwriting career that extended more than sixty years, Richard Adler's songs written for the pop music market have sold many millions of copies and have propelled the composer into The Songwriters Hall Of Fame.
This week Joel Najman's My Place program celebrates the life in music of composer and lyricist Richard Adler with an hour of his biggest hits and most famous songs from both on the radio and on the Broadway stage. Memorable recordings by Doris Day, Sarah Vaughan, Eddie Fisher and others are among the selections featured.
