One of the most consistently creative popular music songwriters of the 1950's and 1960's is Nashville-based John D Loudermilk. His songs ranged from teenage pop to country, blues and novelty, many dealing with novel and unusual story lines. Dozens of artists have recorded his songs including Brenda Lee, the Chordettes, Stonewall Jackson and Paul Revere and the Raiders.
