This is one of those winters where people can't stop talking about the weather. But unlike last year, it's not because it's so cold and so snowy, but because it isn't. And while the temperatures and overall snowfall totals aren't record breaking, many local businesses and snow sport enthusiasts are struggling. We look at how the fluctuating temperatures and lack of snow is affecting everything from winter sports and local businesses to birds and plants, with Tim Mueller, president of Okemo Mountain Resort, Tony Clark, owner of Blueberry Hill Inn in Goshen, "bird diva" Bridget Butler, Sarah Kingsley-Richards, a veteran of the UVM Extension Master Gardener program, and Jim Hill, president of the Vermont Association of Snow Travelers.
Also on the program, the Vermont Commission for Women has been publishing "The Legal Rights of Women in Vermont" since 1977. The 6th edition was recently published, 14 years after the previous one. Wendy Love, the commission's executive director, discusses how the handbook helps the layperson understand their legal rights and responsibilities under state and federal law.
