Gov't Transparency A Priority For Condos

Secretary of State Jim Condos testifies this winter on a bill to establish a government transparency office within the Secretary of State, with authority to review complaints from citizens and order agencies to comply with records requests.

Vermont Secretary of State Jim Condos held meetings around the state to work with state and local officials on issues of transparency and providing access to government records. We talk with Condos about the results of his "Transparency Tour" and about other issues his office is working on, including campaign finance reform and legislative redistricting.

 

 

Also in the program, Burlington Mayor Bob Kiss announced this week that he will not run for re-election. The Progressive mayor's decision has been long-awaited as Democrats choose a candidate to run for the post and Republican Kurt Wright launches his campaign for mayor. Seven Days columnist Shay Totten explains the impact of Kiss' announcement.
