Healing Through Music
08/31/11 3:00PM
Music can't solve the world's problems, but it can cushion the blow and
be a catalyst for inspiration. Today we'll hear music that is
free-spirited, uplifting, and cheerful as Vermont begins to rebuild.
Included is a performance of Beethoven's Choral Fantasy from the 1981
Marlboro Music Festival, in honor of the town of Marlboro and the
challenges it faces right now.
Today's Next Generation Concert selection features a performance of Rachmaninoff's Vocalise.
