Marlboro Month: Dominick Argento

07/20/11 8:00AM

[painting by George Gower]
Dominick Argento's "Six Elizabethan Songs" have a surprisingly baroque feel and sound, for being written in 1958. We'll hear them this morning as part of VPR Classical's "Marlboro Month" - in a 1998 Festival performance.

We'll also hear music from Counterpoint, Vermont's professional vocal ensemble - in anticipation of tonight's special broadcast of the April 3rd Counterpoint Legacy Concert. Listen to the program from 8-10pm tonight.
