This week's Young Writers Project piece - with audio - is by Gerret Margolis, a seventh grader at Frances Richmond Middle School, who performed the piece at a recent YWP Poetry Slam and reflects the untold story of Mr. Humpty Dumpty. For more great student writing go to youngwritersproject.org

Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall
Humpty Dumpty had a great fall

The king's finest horse and the king's right hand man
To put him together they both made a plan

Together they gathered all of the kings tape
Together they tried to find Humpty's right shape

When they finally taped back together his shell
The horse cried "We taped his mouth shut, can't you tell"

And so they took all of the pieces apart
But then they had no slight idea where to start

Suddenly the horse had a plan yet again:
"Who knew the shape of eggs better then a hen!"

Remember my children that it was the hen
That put Humpty Dumpty together again
