From the St. Albans Raid to Vermonters serving in the Union Army to the local stops on the Underground Railroad, the state played a vital role in the Civil War. We talk with Vermont Historical Society Executive Director Mark Hudson and Civil War historian and author Howard Coffin as they prepare for Vermont's Civil War Sesquicentennial.

Plus, VPR's Ross Sneyd provides analysis of the week's news.

And, in his latest Report from Afghanistan, VPR's Steve Zind talks with Sergeant Albert Fry who handles office supplies at Camp Phoenix in Kabul.
