Schumann/Chopin Bicentennial

2010 is the bicentennial birthday anniversary year of two major classical composers: Robert Schumann and Frederic Chopin were both born in 1810.
Throughout today, the occasion of Schumann's 200th
birthday, VPR Classical will be featuring the music of both composers as well as the voices of local pianists sharing insights into the legacy and personal meaning of Schumann and Chopin's music.
In the 8 o'clock hour this morning we'll hear from Inessa Zaretsky, and then at 9am Annemieke Spoelstra will join me on the air for a
live performance/broadcast of Chopin and Schumann's music live from he Mahaney Center for the Arts in Middlebury where VPR Classical's newest radio station, WOXM, is going on the air that morning.
